Ashton said that if he'll beat CNN's "breaking news" Twitter account to a million followers before they do - he will also donate 10,000 mosquito bed nets to charity for World Malaria Day . CNN said they will match it.
Meanwhile video-game company Electronic Arts (EA) - announces on their Twitter that the 1,000,000th follower of Ashton's Twitter (if he wins) - will be made into a playable Sim character in their upcoming Sims 3 game - and he will also get free copies of every game the company will release in 2009.
Then things got even more crazy:
Meanwhile, CNN had been actually showing 'breaking news' updates in their TV channel - about the situation with this 'contest'.

The real winners - are of-course: Twitter, which just added even more public attention to their (silly little) thing, CNN, Larry King, Ashton, EA, and, yeah... maybe some 10,000 Africans got a little something from it as well
